Welcome!
The Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admissions Counseling (PCACAC) is a non-profit, professional organization for those who work with students in the transition between high school and college. Founded in 1964, PCACAC exists to maintain high professional standards at both the secondary and college levels and to connect college admissions officers, secondary school counselors, independent counselors, financial aid officers, and educational organizations to discuss common professional concerns and to explore ways to empower students.
PCACAC is the regional affiliate of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) serving Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
2010 Summer Institute
This year’s Summer Institute will be held on the beautiful campus of St. Mary’s College of Maryland on Monday/Tuesday, August 2-3. There is truly something for everyone this year – great sessions, networking opportunities, fun social activities, and, of course, the “infamous” cracker barrel discussion of hot topics and best practices. The $175 fee covers sessions, materials, meals and housing – a good bargain for a quality professional development opportunity.
ATTENTION deans/directors/counseling supervisors: are you hiring new staff that you believe you should send to the SI but the hiring process just isn’t quite complete yet? Not a problem. Contact Mary Layman, PCACAC Executive Assistant, at mlayman@pcacac.org and she will facilitate the process for their registration.
Download the registration form here. Registration deadline is July 19th 2010.
