Summer Institute

Using a personalized setting, the PCACAC Summer Institute is uniquely designed to provide professional development, networking opportunities, training and leadership development for professionals who assist students in the transition from high school to college.  PCACAC's annual Summer Institute is designed for those college counseling/admission professionals who are new to the profession.

As you are looking for ways to gain valuable experience in college counseling from either side of the desk, the Summer Institute is perfect for you.  School and college counselors with up to 5 years of professional experience will be able to gain insights into the profession with a variety of sessions.  Sessions included in previous SIs include:

  • using resources such as PCACAC & NACAC,
  • keeping ethics in the forefront of the profession,
  • setting up your college counseling office,
  • territory management,
  • a mock admissions committee session, and
  • technology issues/social media in the college search process...just to name a few.

2012 Summer Institute

The Summer Institute dates are July 30 and July 31 on the campus of the University of Delaware. The optional tour of colleges is August 1. The colleges included are the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University and Villanova University.
